Bianca Giurca

After Bianca qualified as a nurse in Romania in 2000, her passion for helping others saw her seeking a career in community nursing care. To achieve and further this ambition, she moved to England in 2005, working as a nurse in a care home. Having joined in 2019, she is now in 2022 the Registered Manager at Cedar Lawn, where she loves the warm, welcoming atmosphere and delights in the joy that the staff team bring to residents.

Cedar Lawn administrator Izzy

Izzy Speirs

Administrator

Izzy began working at Cedar Lawn in the domestic team in 2011 and worked in many of the other departments over the years, before settling into the role of Administrator in 2022,
After initially assisting home manager Bianca with some small admin tasks during the Covid period. Izzy soon realised that the administrator role suited her skills much more than anything else she had done at Cedar Lawn. Izzy particularly enjoys helping others, and getting to know the residents more. Being part of a supportive team who all work together to ensure Cedar Lawn is a happy home is another bonus in her current role, so when the opportunity to move into the administrator role permanently came up it was the obvious next step in her career and she has gone on to flourish in the role.
Izzy has proved herself to be an invaluable member of the team, always there to support not just their residents but also their families and friends and other members of the Cedar Lawn Team
In her spare time.

Izzy loves to travel and visit new countries whenever possible, enjoying the different cultures and cuisines, Izzy also loves spending time with her family especially her nephews

Jacqueline Smith

Regional Manager South

Working for 11 years as a Social Worker and Team Manager in Adult Services, Jacqueline relished supporting care providers with their safeguarding, quality and compliance requirements. Based on this experience, she then sought a move into working with a residential care provider. Jacqueline approached Allegra Care first, as she felt that the company’s values, care principles and household model aligned very closely with her own vision of what good care should look like. As Regional Manager, her passion for outstanding care is self-evident as she supports homes and colleagues across Hampshire. She also thinks laughter is a great tonic – and her cheeky sense of humour is infectious.

Away from work, Jacqueline enjoys eating out, cinema and horse racing. As a mother of two grown up children, she enjoys spending time with her friends, her family and her two grandchildren.

Regional Relationship Liaison Manager Southern Region

After working for 14 years as a renal nurse specialist, Jacqui changed her career to be around more for her young children. Her wide-ranging experience since then encompasses a number of rewarding positions across a variety of sectors, including team leader for Jobsite; Southern Team manager for Westfield Health; management for a specialist lender helping people rebuild their credit profile and, most recently, moving into the elderly care sector with Barchester, for whom she worked in community awareness and fundraising.

Now, as Regional Relationship Liaison Manager for Allegra Care, she brings her diverse portfolio of skills to the task of supporting the homes and helping the company develop its profile in the elderly care sector.
My mum became a resident at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home in January 2023 following a hip fracture. From my first phone call and visit, I felt a very friendly, helpful and warm welcome from all the team. I have had excellent feedback on how Mum has settled in. Questions and issues raised have been dealt with promptly and efficiently.
The 'resident of the day' opportunity to share about Mum is a positive initiative, I found it very useful. Thank you all for your care shown to Mum

Person centred care lies at the heart of our philosophy at Cedar Lawn.

To this end, we tailor an individual care package in collaboration with the resident and their family. This plan is then reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure that it continues to meet the resident’s every need.
