Meet the team

Under the dedicated leadership of Registered Manager Sam Humphries, each of the team at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home has been hand-picked for their professionalism and their ability to deliver compassionate nursing, respite and palliative care at all times.

Registered Manager

Sam brings extensive experience of caring for the elderly to her role as Registered Manager at Cedar Lawn. Working in the elderly care sector since 2007, she studied at university and qualified as a nurse in 2011, before joining Cedar Lawn in December 2016. Since then she has worked tirelessly with her dedicated staff team to create a welcoming, family-orientated environment and to provide the best possible experience through tailor-made care programmes to suit residents’ individual needs. Community care lies at the heart of Sam’s ethos at Cedar Lawn, with a commitment to ensuring that residents remain as involved and socially engaged as possible. Nutrition is another cornerstone of her care philosophy - Cedar Lawn has a five star Food Hygiene rating and takes great pride in serving fresh, home cooked food every day.

Deputy Manager

After Bianca qualified as a nurse in Romania in 2000, her passion for helping others saw her seeking a career in community nursing care. To achieve and further this ambition, she moved to England in 2005, working as a nurse in a care home. Having joined in 2019, she is now Deputy Manager at Cedar Lawn, where she loves the warm, welcoming atmosphere and delights in the joy that the staff team bring to residents.
My mother entered Cedar Lawn three years ago with dementia and needing nursing care. In those three years as her health has deteriorated the level of care has always been exceptional in meeting her complex needs. We always appreciate the warm, engaging welcome we receive from staff when we visit. They have created a warm, family atmosphere within the home. We are truly thankful to have found an outstanding home within Cedar Lawn for our very precious Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.

Person centred care lies at the heart of our philosophy at Cedar Lawn.

To this end, we tailor an individual care package in collaboration with the resident and their family. This plan is then reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure that it continues to meet the resident’s every need.
