Registered Manager

Having trained at the University of Southampton’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, Gemma qualified as a nurse in 2006. Since then, she has enjoyed an extensive career in nursing in a variety of roles in elderly nursing care. The roles have provided Gemma with a wide range of skills and experience from positions including from staff nurse, Clinical Lead to Deputy Matron, and has obtained her Registered Managers Award. Gemma has a keen interest in dementia and palliative care, and has been Manager at Dunwood Manor since May 2014. Away from work Gemma enjoys spending time with her family and swimming.

When her hands-on nursing career was curtailed by back problems, Catriona resolved to continue working in the care sector. She studied to complete an NVQ2 in Business Administration, enabling her to move into an administrative role within the company. Now, with eight years’ experience under her belt, she has developed a broad skillset and a fulfilling career helping others in a role that rewards her people skills. A keen reader, she also enjoys spending free time with her son and being out and about in the local area.

Deputy Manager

Having trained at the University of Southampton’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lisa qualified in 2004. Since then, she has enjoyed an extensive career in nursing, acquiring a wide variety of skills and experience across a range of nursing roles, from carer and staff nurse to Community Sister and Senior Nurse in the nursing home sector. With a keen interest in palliative and dementia care, she was delighted to progress her career by joining Dunwood Manor as Deputy Manager. Away from work, she enjoys the great outdoors, exploring the New Forest with her family.

An important part of our job at Dunwood Manor is to allay any worries you might have by providing full and honest answers to all of your questions, so you’re fully informed to make the right decisions. And the same applies throughout your loved-one’s time with us - no matter what’s on your mind, we’re here to help and advise.

Since my wife was admitted to Dunwood Manor some thirteen months ago I have found the care and attention afforded to her has been exemplary. Her somewhat unexpected confinement was a difficult enough situation to adjust to but it has been made very much easier by the very kind and caring attitude of the staff at all levels. Access to see my wife has been made as easy as possible in these Covid ridden times but it is not difficult to see why those precautions were necessary and hopefully they will improve still further in due course. The home carries all of the right gradings and certification with attention being paid to personal needs and dietary requirements. For families searching for a haven for an elderly relative then Dunwood Manor should be well in focus.
