Burns night at St Georges Nursing Home was filled with Haggis, Tartan, Poetry & making memories. The kitchen team put their own twist on the traditional haggis by making haggis pie, a first for the home & a unique one... The morning was filled with tartan as we made tartan gonks while enjoying drinks & Scottish shortbread .... The afternoon was one to remember as we had a visit from a local poet who recited some Robert Burns Poetry & sparked that creativity in our residents who loved getting involved & also requested some poems to be read that were dear to their hearts. A little spontaneity was also on the cards as the wife of one of our residents from Glasgow took the floor and with great passion and gusto recited her own poetry. Another day of making memories & togetherness here at the home.
