St Georges Nursing Home Testimonials

testimonial

I approached St Georges to ask about respite/convalescent care for my sister, who had had several falls in the recent past. A gentleman responded immediately, and we chatted about what might be possible. Within a few days, he had been to visit my sister at home, and once I knew she was happy with the arrangements, she was given a date (last Friday) to arrive at St Georges for her stay of three or so weeks. She was welcomed and shown to her room. Over the weekend, she got used to life at St Georges, which is very relaxed and caring. I heard that yesterday she enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast. In my contact with the same gentleman, he has been responsive, friendly and efficient in answering my questions.

My husband has been at St Georges since March 2020; he went in a few days before lockdown, so I didn't know a lot about the care home because it was only supposed to be for respite.

Once lockdown started and he couldn't come home, he got steadily worse and now can't do anything for himself. The staff are wonderful with him, can't praise them enough. The home is lovely and well kept.

We both love St George's nursing home, the staff not only make the resident's feel at home but also family and visitors, you are made to feel welcome every visit.

The staff are amazing, always helpful and have a smile on their face, nothing is too much trouble. Any concerns are dealt with appropriately and respectfully.

The residents are treated with dignity and respect. I would not want my husband to be anywhere else.

Mum is at the home for three weeks respite care following a fall at her home and three days in hospital. She has vascular dementia. In less than two weeks, she has gained three lbs. She had a problem with hydration which likely caused her to fall but since being at the home her colour has returned and she is drinking fluids well. Her ability to communicate is very limited but I have noticed that she is using a few more words. She seems to enjoy knowing there are people about and listening to their interactions. I think the fact that staff are there during the night makes her feel safer.

It is very likely that Mum will stay at the home. She is very well looked after and we, as a family, feel happier knowing she is safe and being well looked after. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who are always so warm and friendly not only to the residents but also us, the visitors. Food is of a very high standard and seems to be almost constantly available.
