Redefining how care is delivered in the UK
At Allegra Care, people are at the heart of everything we do. Our warm and welcoming homes help residents and their loved ones to enjoy a true sense of belonging within a family-oriented community that truly feels like home.

Warm, welcoming homes where everyone belongs
In an Allegra Care care home, residents, loved ones, and team members are like family. Dignity, independence, belonging, and genuine warmth are the cornerstones of our expert care philosophy.
We aim to surprise and delight residents, as well as showing kindness, compassion, and empathy that’s warm and welcoming for everyone.

The Household Model of care
At Allegra Care, we believe every care home should feel like a real home – a place filled with comfort, choice, and purpose. That belief is at the heart of our Household Model of care. Rather than large, institutional settings, our homes are divided into smaller households, each with its own kitchen, living spaces, and familiar touches. This creates a warm, welcoming environment where residents can be themselves, maintain their hobbies and routines, and make meaningful choices about how they live each day.
Our Household Model places people at the centre of care, promoting dignity, independence, joy, and belonging for residents, while providing peace of mind for loved ones. Supported by compassionate team members who become trusted companions, residents are encouraged to live life their way within a community that feels like family.
With kindness, compassion, and empathy at the heart of everything we do, we strive to surprise and delight residents every day, helping them feel truly at home.

All Allegra Care homes provide dedicated residential nursing care, with respite, long-term, and end-of-life provisions. People helping people is at our core, and that expert care prioritises warmth, compassion, and empathy.
Some Allegra Care homes, too, are able to offer additional specialist care. That can include dedicated dementia care, empathetic support for those exhibiting behaviours that challenge, specialised help for young people with disabilities, and more.
Care costs are just one of many aspects involved in choosing the right care option for your loved one. We understand, however, the importance of clarity when it comes to fees and funding. That’s why we invite you to get in touch with one of our friendly teams and discuss fees, funding options, and your individual needs.
The Household Model is a key part of Allegra Care’s philosophy and how we redefine the way care is delivered in the UK. At its heart, it’s about making each home a welcoming environment for residents, loved ones, and staff.
Residents retain their independence and sense of self, while feeling part of a fun and dynamic community where they can make real friends. They can maintain hobbies and habits, their loved ones can drop by whenever they like, and they forge genuine connections with carers and staff.
You can absolutely visit an Allegra Care home if you’re interested in learning more or think it may be a good fit for your needs.
It’s quick and easy to schedule a tour of the home that may suit you. Our friendly team will be delighted to show you around and to answer the questions of any prospective residents and their families.
Any new resident at an Allegra Care home can expect a warm welcome. We’re dedicated to ensuring that everyone feels at home. Rather than being focused on rules or schedules, we’re focused on people. That means whatever your loved one needs to settle in, we’ll do all we can to accommodate.
From day one, we’ll create a personalised care plan, you can visit as and when you wish, and you’re encouraged to bring personal items, pictures, and furniture to help make your loved one’s room truly their own.
Each resident’s personalised care plan is regularly reviewed by our expert care teams. Whether to respond to changing needs or simply make them feel happier and more comfortable, we’ll proactively adapt plans as necessary.
Families are absolutely welcome to visit at any time, and be a full and active part of an Allegra Care community. We’d simply suggest considering when staff’s busiest times are likely to be and, if possible, to give some advance warning of very early visits or planned outings.
Allegra Care operates a family of quality homes across central and southern England.
Including everything from modern, purpose-built properties to elegant country residences, our homes serve Hampshire and Dorset, South Gloucestershire and Somerset, Cambridgeshire, and Suffolk.
The team behind Allegra Care

Standards Manager
Lynne Birt
Lynne’s career journey is anything but ordinary. She began her working life as a carer in the late 1990s, before taking a fascinating detour to gain a BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology in 2005. After working as a scientist for British American Tobacco, and volunteering as a Community Responder with the Ambulance Service, her passion for caring for people was well and truly reignited.

That calling led Lynne to qualify as a Registered Nurse in 2010 (Postgraduate Diploma). She went on to build strong clinical experience as a hospital vascular nurse and surgical pre-assessment nurse, before finding her way back to where her heart truly lies — adult social care. From staff nurse, Lynne progressed to Clinical Lead and Registered Manager, gaining a deep understanding of what great care looks like on the ground.
More recently, Lynne worked for the NHS Integrated Care Board as a Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Adults Nurse, supporting care homes across Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight. This role strengthened her commitment to high standards, compassionate leadership and supporting teams to deliver the very best care.
In 2024, Lynne was awarded the prestigious title of **Queen’s Nurse**, recognising her dedication to excellence in care and leadership within the community — one of just 81 Queen’s Nurses in Hampshire.
As Allegra Care’s Standards Manager, Lynne brings passion, expertise and genuine warmth to everything she does. She is deeply committed to ensuring older people receive outstanding, person-centred care that reflects their individual needs, choices and wishes.
Outside of work, Lynne is a big rugby fan (supporting Harlequins), a proud rugby mum to her 13-year-old son, and a first aider for his rugby club. She has a soft spot for all things Disney — especially Stitch — and loves spending time with her cocker spaniel, Jessie.
