Dementia Care in Patchway, Bristol

Rose Garden is a modern, purpose-built residential and dementia care home in Patchway, just North of Bristol. Only a mile from Cribbs Causeway, the home first opened in 2020 and was specially designed to provide exceptional dementia care in the North Bristol area.

Dementia Care at Rose Garden: An Inclusive Community

Dementia can be isolating for those living with it, and that’s why we designed Rose Garden as a welcoming and inclusive space that fosters community and belonging.

Residents living with dementia share their home with others of differing needs, allowing a greater feeling of normality and making it easier to build broader friendship groups.

Our experienced and devoted staff are on hand to ensure everyone stays safe and happy, and the specially designed layout of Rose Garden makes that possible.

Designed With Dementia Care in Mind

From the beginning, we planned for Rose Garden to be a centre for exceptional Dementia Care in Bristol and to serve the wider North Bristol community. That’s why we designed and purpose-built the beautiful home with Dementia care in mind.

The overall open plan design gives the whole place a light, airy, and cheerful feel. What’s more, it aids sight lines so that our staff can quickly spot when residents need extra support without unnecessarily compromising their privacy.

Each of our 40 modern rooms, too, has an en-suite wet room to cater to differing needs while supporting independence and dignity. And those are just a few of the highlights of Rose Garden’s exceptional dementia care features.

Open Plan, Airy Spaces

Our luxurious lounges and delightful dining areas boast a bright and cheerful feel thanks to their open plan design. That helps everyone feel at home while also supporting safety and security.

Accessible Yet Personal Rooms

Each of our 40 splendid bedrooms has a spacious feel and private en-suite wet room. Every resident is then encouraged to make the space their own with whatever decor, furniture, and personal effects they desire.

Memory Lane Reminiscence Village

An innovative idea to help stimulate memory and promote wellbeing, our Memory Lane reminiscence village has its own pub, greengrocers and post office, and is particularly popular with residents living with dementia.

A Balance of Safety and Dignity

The safety and security of our residents is paramount, but we don’t want it to come at the expense of independence or privacy.

Rose Garden has discreet CCTV in communal areas so our staff can quickly spot issues without any resident feeling they’re being surveilled.

Infra-red security sensors in our bedrooms, meanwhile, make sure we can spot and react to falls and other incidents immediately.

It’s all part of our philosophy that Dementia Care should keep the people living with Dementia at its heart at all times.

The Rose Garden Team

As important as our purpose-built home is to providing exceptional Dementia Care in Cribbs Causeway, it’s our devoted, tight-knit team that really makes the difference.

Led by Manager, Vlad Adam, and Deputy Manager, Leonie Raven, most of our team have been at Rose Garden since we opened. They’re friendly and familiar faces that help brighten the days of all our residents.

Our care staff are experienced in Dementia care and receive ongoing training to ensure they’re ideally equipped to provide everything our residents need.

Life At Rose Garden

Supporting a Fulfilling Life With Dementia

Life at Rose Garden is about far more than care. It's about good days, full of the things that make each person feel like themselves. Our activities are shaped around every resident's interests and life story, so one person might spend the morning potting up plants in the garden while another enjoys a sing-along, a quiz or a quiet chat over the newspaper.

Music, time outdoors and a good celebration are all part of the Rose Garden rhythm. Birthdays, seasonal events and themed days bring the whole home together. Our links with the growing Charlton Hayes community keep residents connected to life beyond our front door.

She combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach, making sure plans don’t just look good on paper but actually work in real life. From project management to mentoring and developing teams, Julie is passionate about helping people grow and services succeed.

She works closely with local authorities and a wide range of stakeholders, building positive, productive relationships along the way. Known for her attention to detail and collaborative style, Julie’s supportive team approach has made her a favourite with both clients and commissioning authorities.

When she’s not supporting homes across the portfolio, Julie can usually be found outdoors enjoying the countryside. She’s a keen walker, an enthusiastic bird watcher, and a proud member of the National Trust — happiest with fresh air, good views and a pair of comfy walking boots.

Catherine

Catherine

While her two children were younger, she joined her husband in his estate agency, but was delighted to return to the care sector in 2020 and now cannot imagine doing anything else.

Catherine’s role with Allegra is to support residents and their families as they explore care options. Working with the teams in the individual homes she ensures that during every stage from initial enquiry through to moving in with us every question is answered, and we offer the reassurance needed for the next chapter in our resident’s life. It is important for our residents to remain part of the community in which will have lived for years, often all their lives, so the other part of this role is connecting with local community groups, charities and organisations.

Catherine has said that working for Allegra with their groundbreaking household model means we are offering a home with compassion and care whilst ensuring residents are retaining their independence and quality of life.

Out of work Catherine enjoys baking and gardening The children are older now, but still keep her busy!
