Our residents at Cherry Blossom Care Home, in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire were thrilled to participate in the 2024 Memory Walk, a fundraising event organized by the Alzheimer’s Society. As a care home with a dedicated dementia floor, we are committed to supporting individuals living with dementia and the valuable charities that assist them.
A Walk to Remember
The Memory Walk provided a wonderful opportunity for our residents, their families, and friends to come together and raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease. The event was a great way to show our support for the Alzheimer’s Society and the important work they do.
A Successful Fundraising Effort
Our team assembled a group of nearly 30 people, including nine residents, and we were delighted to raise over £500 for this worthy cause. The funds raised will contribute to Alzheimer’s research and support services.
A Day of Fun and Friendship
Despite a rainy start to the day, the weather held, and we enjoyed a pleasant walk in the fresh air. The residents had a wonderful time participating in the event and socializing with each other.
A Delicious Reward
After the walk, our residents were rewarded with a delicious roast lamb dinner back at Cherry Blossom Care Home. The meal was a perfect way to refuel and celebrate our participation in the Memory Walk.
