Our residential care home in Suffolk
With settlement dating back to Anglo Saxon times, Suffolk is known for its low-lying coastal landscape and longstanding agricultural heritage. The county’s historic pink-washed cottages and houses lend a strong sense of local character, and Suffolk boasts some of the most unspoilt coast and countryside in the UK. From the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and nature reserves at Minsmere and Trimley Marshes, to the Sandlings, a coastal strip of heathlands up to the wetlands of the Broads in the north, it’s a county of endless vistas and spectacular skies. The port and county town of Ipswich is Suffolk’s most populous, with other large centres including Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds. With almost a quarter of the population aged 65 or older, Suffolk enjoys a wide appeal for older generations, drawn to the county’s leisurely pace of life and enduring rural charm.
Acquired in 2021, Allegra Care’s first home in Suffolk is Magdalen House, located in the ancient and attractive market town of Hadleigh.
