A Calling - a project about our passions through time

Back in July St Georges took part in a new project being run by Alive Activities to capture the insights of the older generation - "A Calling - a project about our passions through time."  This is part of Alive Activities' Strength Together Age Network Development (STANd) projects; linking older and younger people through intergenerational projects.

Intergenerational Project

The project also spoke with local school children. Residents attended the launch of A Calling at Weston-super-Mare Museum and had the opportunity to hear their call in the telephone box art installation.

Pink Pages

The outing was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish; thank you to the team at Alive for arranging the community transport and to driver Trevor who even took the scenic route on the way back!  There was a warm welcome at the Museum from Alive and the creative team as the tea flowed and everyone had the opportunity to hear their call in the pink telephone box. Resident Terry was invited to cut the cake for the official opening.

Do take the opportunity to visit the phone box over, you will flick through the "Pink Pages" and dial in to who you wish to listen to; the residents were fascinated to see themselves featured.  What an amazing project that St Georges have had the privilege to be part of.
