Canapes and Cocktails at St Georges Nursing Home

Cocktails

Residents at St Georges Nursing Home in Somerset recently enjoyed a delightful midweek gathering filled with expertly crafted canapés and refreshing cocktails. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for socialising, indulging in delicious treats, and learning new culinary skills.

Cookery Masterclass with Head Chef Richard

As part of the afternoon's activities, Head Chef Richard hosted a special cookery masterclass, guiding residents through the process of creating the perfect delicate canapé. The session also included a demonstration on how to make a classic White Russian cocktail, alongside a selection of alcohol-free alternatives. Residents enjoyed engaging with the cooking process, learning new skills, and, of course, tasting the delicious results!

A Special Visit from Priory Community School Academy

This culinary experience coincided with the monthly visit from students at Priory Community School Academy. The intergenerational gathering was a heartwarming sight, as residents and students shared stories and laughter over the beautifully prepared canapés. The students actively participated by serving the residents and even had the chance to sample the non-alcoholic drinks and some of the delightful treats themselves.

At St Georges, we cherish these moments of connection between generations, recognising the joy and conversation that such visits bring to our residents.
