Former Headmaster Heads Back to the Class Room!

Terry Goes Back to the Class Room

Project Sunshine Creating Special Moments

Project Sunshine struck again at St Georges Nursing Home as resident Terry assisted in a year 1 classroom at St Georges Church School near Weston-super-Mare.

A Dedicated Teacher

Resident Terry has had a long career in teaching, progressing to being Head Teacher and Head of The Head Teachers Association for Somerset. Terrys room at St Georges is filled with memories, pictures and photo books of his many years of teaching and this is something he talks about on a daily basis.

What a honour it was to be able to assist Terry to join in a class again and to witness how teaching is done today. The class was a Phonics Year 1 and Terry wasted no time in joining in with this new method of learning.  Watching Terry study the learning method, praise the children and help them with their handwriting was something very special.

Happy Retirement

Terry also showed the pupils his retirement book which was put together by students when Terry retired.   The book gave many laughs as to whether or not the pictures drawn resembled Terry.

A Day to Remember

The children warmed to Terry in no time and enjoyed showing him their school work.  A truly memorable day, thank you St Georges Church School for such a warm welcome.
