Rose Garden Residents marked VE Day on 8th May.
Celebrating with Song
Rose Garden residents marked VE Day by singing along with the local community choir and enjoying excellent entertainment from singer Rebecca. The classic war time songs evoke memories and are classics that all the residents remember and enjoy singing along to.
Victory in Europe
Celebrating VE Day is important to commemorate victory in Europe and remember the importance of the freedom victory gave future generations. Although the home’s residents are too young to have served during World War Two, many remember the war and went on to National Service, which only stopped being compulsory at the start of the 1960s.
