The Christmas Fair at our St Georges Nursing Home was a truly magical festive event, bringing together families, friends, and even some furry companions for a day filled with holiday cheer.
Santa Paws and Festive Fun
Father Christmas had a very busy day in his grotto, welcoming a steady stream of children and even a few "Santa Paws" pooches! The home was buzzing with excitement, featuring a fabulous variety of stalls from local crafters, a tombola, and face painting. Guests enjoyed delicious homemade cakes and, a special treat for our four-legged friends, tasty puppuccinos! It was heartwarming to see four generations of families coming together to share in the fun.
Community Spirit and Special Guests
We were delighted to welcome many visitors from the local community, including the St Georges Players who added to the atmosphere in their costumes for their upcoming pantomime, Mother Goose. A massive thank you to the Mayor of Weston-super-Mare for taking the time to visit our home once again; his presence was greatly appreciated by everyone.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
This year, the tombola, face painting, and grotto were all fundraising for the Springboard Opportunity Group, a local charity that supports children with disabilities. We were honored to be joined by trustee Beth, who helped out at the grotto. So far, we have raised over £100 and are still collecting donations to help this wonderful charity enable children to learn and flourish.
A Team Effort
Our amazing volunteers, Jane and Diane, along with Jane’s family, did a sterling job keeping the tea and coffee flowing. A special mention goes to Jacob, who baked the delicious cakes despite it being his own birthday—Happy Birthday, Jacob! Additionally, the stalls helped raise money for our residents' fund, which goes toward future events and outings.
Thank you so much to everyone who came along and made the day sparkle!
