It was a day to remember for everyone at our St Georges Nursing Home in Somerset, as we came together to celebrate a truly incredible milestone - the 103rd birthday of the wonderful Una! The home was filled with love and warmth as we honored this spirited lady.
The 103 Card Challenge
To make the day extra special, an appeal was sent out to reach 103 birthday cards for the big day. We are thrilled to say the community surpassed all expectations, with a total of 110 cards received! A huge thank you goes to the children of St Georges’ Primary School and the toddlers from Boogie Beats, who created beautiful handmade cards. Una, along with other residents and the team, spent a lovely morning opening the cards together, which made the celebration feel truly personal.
A Right Royal Lunch Party
Knowing that Una is a huge fan of the Royal Family, we themed the day as a "Right Royal Lunch Party." Home Manager Simon presented Una with a stunning bouquet of flowers on behalf of everyone at St Georges, along with Belgian chocolates, champagne, and two new bears to add to her cherished collection.
Of course, no birthday is complete without a cake! Our hospitality team pulled out all the stops, providing a delicious birthday cake and a fantastic lunch that everyone enjoyed. It was a truly fabulous day for a fabulous lady.
Celebrating a Century and More
At St Georges, we take great pride in celebrating these remarkable milestones. Una’s 103rd birthday was not just a celebration of her age, but a celebration of her spirit and the joy she brings to our community.
