Step Back in Time for a Tea Dance

Tea Dance

Tea Dance at the Winter Gardens

St Georges' residents stepped back in time and visited the Winter Gardens Pavilion in Weston-super-Mare for a tea dance.

Teenage Memories

Terry, Christine, Cynthia and Pearl all talked about their visits to dances at the Winter Gardens when they were young and the residents who came along were keen to step onto the ballroom dance floor.

Terry and Christine have been married for 73 years and loved attending dances as teenagers at the Winter Gardens and what a joy to see them back on the dance floor in their 90s.  Terry a real gentleman also danced with residents Pearl and Brenda as well as other ladies including Tansin who organises the tea dances and is herself a skilled, graceful dancer.

Tea and Cake!

No tea dance could be enjoyed without tea and cake and Stan a former baker gave the thumbs up to the cake!  It was such a pleasure to watch the dancing from the Waltz to the Jive and listen to all the well known music from across the eras.  The tea dance will definitely be added to the St Georges' events calendar going into 2026.
