Celebrating Chinese New Year
It has been all about Chinese New Year this week at Olive Tree House, starting with some colourful arts and crafts sessions. Residents created bright dragons and Chinese lanterns which were then displayed all around the home. The dragons looked fantastic in the home's windows, symbolising power, honour and success in Chinese culture the dragon and should bring a good energy to the home!
Chinese Food
Olive Tree House residents also took the opportunity to visit the local Chinese supermarket. The plan was to purchase some different foods to try as well as some traditional fortune cookies.
Residents really enjoyed walking around the store and as well as some different foods they also picked up some more decorations to add to the home-made crafts. The activities then went around the home with hot noodles for residents to try with chopsticks!
It was also good fun reading the fortunes, it really has been a great week at Olive Tree House celebrating the up and coming year of the wood snake.
