Birthdays, bingo & sweet treats at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home

We love a food-based activity at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home, which is why we're always excited to see friends and family come to the home for a residents' tea party!

Towards the end of June our residents had the pleasure of welcoming their families to the home to enjoy some homemade treats our Chef and kitchen team created.

From scones to Viennese whirls, there were plenty of treats on offer, but no tea party would be complete without the most important ingredient: tea! We loved seeing our residents' families enjoy a relaxing afternoon and a catch-up over sweet treats and tea

Ice cream and nostalgia on a summer's day

However, the food-related activities didn't end there. In July the residents at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home greatly enjoyed a visit from one of our home's favourite people: Mr Whippy!

Our residents are always pleased to hear the familiar tune of Mr Whippy's van, and even more pleased with the ice creams and lollies on offer.

Like many of us, Mr Whippy and the familiar taste of our beloved ice cream of choice can bring happy memories. In between the smiles and laughter, we also saw happy tears as memories of the past came flooding back.

Moments like these show how important it is for our residents to engage in regular activities. As part of our residential care, we plan a host of activities that everyone can take part in; from trips out of the home to Mr Whippy's visit!

July birthdays & bingo at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home

Throughout the month, the house was buzzing with birthdays as many of our residents celebrated their special days! Like all birthdays at Cedar Lawn, we make sure our residents celebrate in style with trips out for cake, family visits and fun activities for all to take part in.

But if that wasn't enough, our residents had the chance to unleash their competitive side towards the end of the month during a heated game of Bingo!

It wasn't just any old game of Bingo though, our residents played musical bingo using classic songs from decades gone by.
