Our amazing team at Fairmile Grange Care Home is always finding ways to promote independence and joy among our residents, and one of the most popular ways to do that is through the art of baking! Today, the home was filled with the irresistible aroma of something sweet.
A Recipe for Connection
Our residents spent a wonderful afternoon whipping up a batch of Mary Berry’s famous blondies. As the delicious scent drifted through the dining room and along the corridors, it sparked plenty of smiles and healthy appetites.
Baking is about more than just the end result; it’s a time for sharing. As they mixed the ingredients, residents shared fond memories of baking for family and friends. Resident Barbara delighted everyone by sharing stories of the beautiful, elaborate cakes she used to bake throughout her life.
Music, Tea, and Tasty Treats
While the blondies were golden-browning in the oven, the group didn't let the time go to waste! They enjoyed a lively sing-along over a nice cup of tea, creating a warm and social atmosphere. Of course, the absolute highlight of the afternoon was finally sitting down to sample their warm, home-cooked treats. They were a unanimous success!
