Kindness Amongst Our Residents at Fordingbridge

Wendy giving Devi her scarves

At our Fordingbridge Care Home in Christchurch, Dorset, we are constantly moved by the deep friendships and genuine care our residents show for one another. A beautiful example of this kindness unfolded this past week, proving that a small gesture can make a world of difference.

A Thoughtful Find

One of our wonderful residents, Wendy, is an active member of the local community and spends time volunteering at a nearby charity shop. While she was busy sorting through a new delivery of scarves, she spotted a few specific patterns and colours that immediately made her think of her friend and fellow resident, Devi.

Knowing Devi’s personal style and her love for a beautiful accessory, Wendy didn’t hesitate to pick them up as a surprise.

A Delightful Surprise

Devi was absolutely thrilled when Wendy presented her with the thoughtful gift. It is no secret around the home that Devi "loves a scarf or two," and seeing her face light up made the day special for everyone involved.

It wasn’t just about the scarves themselves, but the fact that Wendy had been thinking of her friend while out in the community. It is these moments of selflessness and connection that truly make Fordingbridge feel like a family.
