Our homes in Somerset

Our homes in Somerset

With evidence of settlement as early as Paleolithic times, followed by occupation by Celts, Romans and Anglo Saxons, Somerset is steeped in history. Renowned for its unspoilt rural scenery, this picturesque county is characterised by the rolling landscapes of the Mendip Hills, the Quantock Hills and the Blackdown Hills, as well as some 190 square miles of moorland in Exmoor National Park. Bounded to the north and west by the Severn Estuary and Bristol Channel, there are also large flat expanses of land, including the Somerset Levels. Taunton, with a population of over 70,000, is the county town whilst the spa town of Bath, to the north-east of the county, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its Roman baths and wonderful Georgian architecture.

Acquired in 2019, St Georges Nursing Home in Weston-super-Mare is Allegra Care’s first home in Somerset, with more to follow in the coming years.
