Meet the team

Each and every member of the team here at Magdalen House plays a vital role in our commitment to providing first class dementia, respite and residential care.

Registered Manager

Nicky brings more than 25 years’ care sector experience to her role as Registered Manager of Magdalen House, with a career that spans a wide variety of roles, from care assistant to regional manager.

As her father was in the RAF, Nicky grew up as a Forces child – educated in Germany and living in many locations through her younger life, including Hong Kong. Married for 17 years, with four wonderful sons (and recently becoming a Nanny to yet another little boy!) she is happily settled in a lovely Suffolk village. As her youngest son is an outstanding striker for his football team, she can often be seen on Saturdays and Sundays running the line at his matches. Her other main sporting interest is pool – she plays for Suffolk and also runs two teams in the Ipswich league. Nicky also enjoys spending her leisure time at the gym, relaxing with her family or walking her French Bulldogs, Ralph and Coco, who are frequent visitors to Magdalen House, where the residents adore them and treat them very much as their own.

Of her role as Registered Manager Nicky comments, “I feel so lucky to have this position at Magdalen House – with a wonderful team who have the same vision for the care of our residents, there are exciting times ahead.”

Deputy Manager

Having spent much of her career working with children in a variety of roles, Susan started working in elderly care when her own mother moved into Magdalen House.
Susan joined the team at Magdalen House as a carer in 2013. Loving the fulfilling nature of her new career, she subsequently progressed to Senior, then Deputy Manager, combining her care duties with operational and management responsibilities.
Away from her working life, as a proud Grandma she loves nothing more than spending precious time with her family. And, with a career that has encompassed all ages, she retains her interest in helping future generations through her continuing role as a School Governor.
My sister and brother-in-law moved into Magdalen House Care Home in January. The move was well organised and both new residents settled very quickly. My brother-in-law required 24-hour care and this was provided with professionalism accompanied by good humour whilst maintaining dignity. The staff have met some challenging situations very calmly and have the residents’ interests at the heart of their care.

Tailor-made care packages

At Magdalen House Care Home, we pride ourselves on our individualised approach to person-centred care. Every aspect of each resident’s wellbeing is taken into account upon admission before a detailed, personalised care package is drawn up. As time goes by, that care plan is regularly reviewed and any adjustments recommended according to need.
